The Northwest Synod of Wisconsin has special relationships with Lutherans in Malawi, Brazil, and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the ELCA. These relationships remind us that the church, in this country and abroad,
is engaged in mission far and wide. Through these relationships, we learn from one another, encourage and pray for one another, and support one another for the sake of Christ’s mission.

Accompaniment is how we describe
our commitment to our global companions. This commitment is illustrated by the image of walking alongside companions in respect and mutuality, together discerning future
directions for shared mission.

The synod is very intentional about our ministry with our international companions. We are a Companion Synod with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Malawi (ELCM) and Sínodo Centro-Campanha Sul of the IECLB in Brazil. Please click on the links below to discover more about these companions.
