This year's synod assembly will be held May 21-22 at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Convention Center in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. We will meet in conjunction with the East Central Synod of Wisconsin to worship, laugh, pray, work, discover, share and to be the church together.

How to Register

Registration for the assembly and the pre-assembly event opens February 15. Costs (including assembly and meals): $145 for Voting Members (receive a $30 early bird discount if you register by March 31); $65 for Advisors and Observers. You may register and pay online or download a registration form and mail it with your check to: The Northwest Synod of Wisconsin, PO Box 107, Chetek, WI 54728.

The assembly will be held at the Holiday Inn and Convention Center, 1001 Amber Avenue, Stevens Point, Wisconsin 54482, 715-344-0200. Please make your own hotel reservations. The cost of lodging is NOT included in your registration fee.

Resolutions

Resolutions may be submitted until March 31, 2010, to allow adequate time for the Resolutions Committee to vet them prior to the assembly. They will be posted on this site as they are available. Resolutions received after March 31, 2010, will require a 2/3 affirmative vote on the assembly floor to be considered.

Candidates

This year we will elect candidates to serve:

  • 3-year terms on Synod Council,
  • as 2011 Churchwide Assembly Voting Members
  • on various committees and boards

Offering

This year's quarter collection will be received at two events prior to assembly--Walking Together: A Congregational Resource Event, March 20; and the Glocal Mission Gathering, April 23-24. You may also mail a check to the Synod Office: PO Box 107, Chetek, WI 54728. Please do not bring quarters to the assembly as we have no secure place to collect or store them.

This year's assembly offering will be collected at assembly worship. Because this is a joint assembly, color-coded envelopes will be made available to identify the two synods. The offering will be shared among the Synod Resource Center, the Malawi Pastors' Academy and the Lutheran Malaria Initiative. Thank you for your generous support of these three important ministries.
