Rostered leaders, SAMs, congregational delegates and guests are invited to join us for our annual assembly as we gather under the theme "Water is Life." This two-day event will bring us together for learning, resolutions, partner ministry updates, and a bishop election.

ELCA Representative

Deacon MaryAnn Schwabe

Deacon MaryAnn Schwabe is the ELCA Executive for Synod Relations. From 2005 to 2014 she served as an Assistant to the Bishop in the Northeastern Ohio Synod.

 

Prior to her calls to the synod and churchwide staff, she served congregations as a deacon with a focus in church music, religious education, and family ministry.  MaryAnn has a Bachelor of Music degree from Houghton College and a Master of Arts in Religion from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg.  A student of Bowen theory since 1993, she coordinates the ELCA Systems Academy which focuses on the application of Bowen theory in synods and congregational settings. 

 

Mary Ann and her husband Rick have five adult children, corresponding spouses, and nine grandchildren.
